About Me

Growing up in the small town of Emmett, Idaho, I was able to be active in my school and community. During my time in high school, I participated in Varsity Chior, National Honor Society, FFA and an after school program through 21st Century at the middle and elementary schools. After high school, I left for Caldwell, Idaho where I attended The College of Idaho.

During my time at The College of Idaho I started my journey of learning about history and teaching. I also actively participated on campus with various organizations namely The Women's and Men's Center and Campus Safety among others. The Women's and Men's Center allowed me to explore work with trauma victims and build skills of how to work with individuals that experience similar issues and experiences. Coupled with my full time position with Community Partnerships of Idaho, I was able to expand my experience of how to work with individuals with disabilities and trauma.

Currently, I am enjoying my time student teaching at Vallivue High School for the 2014-2015 school year. My first semester was spent with Randy Fisk where I taught both Government and U.S. History II. This semester I am teaching English 11 with Vicki Scaggs. I am concurrently writing my action research on project-based learning and coconstruction within student assessment.  At the culmination of this year, I will be certified to teach secondary History and English.
